Quantachrome NovaTouch LX BET surface characteristic analyzer – This analyzer is used to characterize surface characteristics of sediments and solids. The instrument uses very low temperatures and pressures to condense liquid nitrogen in the pores of solid materials. Useful for researchers interested in pore size distribution, pore volume, and pore surface area.
Horiba Aqualog – A true scanning fluorimeter, the Aqualog can function as a UV/VIS spectrometer or acquire full EEMs data for a solid or liquid sample in seconds. The instrument also can be cooled or heated with an external bath and pump. Additionally, samples can be stirred to mix for a kinetic absorbance or fluorescence experiment.
Agilent 1260 Infinity LC System with MWD – A quaternary pump LC stack that is best used for quantitation of organic compounds in solution with known spectra. Several wavelengths of light can be chosen for any analysis.
Agilent 1260 Infinity LC System with FLD/DAD – An LC stack ideal for quantitation of complex organic compounds in a solution. Equipped with a binary pump, the instrument is capable of separating and characterizing many compounds during a gradient analysis.
Thermo Dionex 1100/2100 Ion Chromatography System – The 1100 and 2100 systems can operate in tandem to give researchers information about anions and cations in a single injection. Both modules are best suited for general analysis of 1 – 250 ppm anions and cations. Capable of analyzing Anions and Cations simultaneously or separately.
Thermo Integrion Ion Chromatography System – The Integrion is a high-pressure ion chromatography system that uses a narrow bore column to achieve better sensitivity with a smaller sample volume. The system uses conductivity detection and is best suited to detect anions or cations in the low ppb range with minimal adjustment.
Agilent 8900 Triple Quadrupole ICP-MS – The 8900 is a sensitive detector for part per trillion metal concentrations in solution that can calibrate linearly over six orders of magnitude. Capable of analyzing 200+ samples with minimal user input, this instrument is also equipped with an Agilent 1260 Infinity II LC stack for separation or speciation research. Additionally, the detector can be configured to perform single nanoparticle analyses of metallic nanoparticles for size distribution and composition.
Agilent 5110 ICP-OES – This high throughput ICP-OES can analyze over 240 samples for nearly every element on the periodic table with minimal user input. The instrument is capable of generating a linear calibration response for element concentrations from low part per million to thousands of part per million.
Agilent 1260 Infinity LC System with 6460 Triple Quadrupole MS – The 6460 tandem mass spectrometer is capable of quantitating organics at in the part per trillion range after chromatographic separation. Samples can be ionized by ESI or APCI. The instrument has a 96 well plate autosampler for high throughput.
Horiba MacroRAM – An easy to use Raman spectrometer, the MacroRAM is rated at a laser safety level of Class 1 (laser safety training not necessary) in the base configuration. It has a spectral range of 100-3400/cm with a spectral resolution of roughly 8/cm. The system can be configured to analyze liquid or solid samples.
YSI EXO II Multiparameter Sonde – This portable unit can reach depths of at least 20 m and is best suited for bulk water parameter measurements such as pH, conductivity, temperature, depth, turbidity, total algae, and fDOM. The instrument is capable of real-time online data collection for depth profiles or can be deployed remotely and left to acquire time series data.
GE Sievers M5310C Total Organic Carbon Analyzer – The TOC is a non-combustion dissolved inorganic/organic carbon analyzer capable of IC/OC quantitation from 4 ppb to 100 ppm. The instrument is calibrated and qualified every six months, so there is no need for users to prepare an external calibration.
